I applied to EOPS. When will I hear back? 

Processing times may vary. Students should regularly check their IVC email for updates regarding their application and next steps. If you would like to get an update on your application, feel free to visit our front desk in Bldg. 100 or call us at 760-355-6407.  

 

Can I apply to EOPS if I’m already part of another IVC program? 

Yes! Students may apply and qualify for EOPS even if they are already participating in another IVC program, such as PROMISE, SSS, PUENTE, or another student support program. 

 

Will EOPS grants and services affect my IVC financial aid? 

No! EOPS grants and services are provided in addition to your IVC financial aid and do not replace your financial aid. Eligibility and availability may vary depending on the specific EOPS grant or service. 

 

Current EOPS Students FAQ: 

How many EOPS counseling contacts do I need each semester? 

EOPS students are required to complete three counseling contacts during the Fall and Spring semesters by the established deadlines. Contact deadlines are posted in the EOPS Canvas course. 

 

What are my options for meeting with an EOPS/CARE counselor? 

Students can meet with an EOPS/CARE counselor through scheduled appointments or drop-in services. Counseling is available in person or through Zoom. 

 

Am I still requested to meet the minimum requirement of 12 units or more per (Fall/Spring) semester? 

Yes. Students are requested to meet the minimum number of enrolled units in Fall and Spring.  

 

I don't have access to a laptop or software. 

Student Equity & Achievement Program (SEA) can assist student barriers to accessing technology off-campus. If you need a laptop, you may contact the Student Equity & Achievement Program at 760-355-1826 or equity@imperial.edu. 

 

I rely on the IVC Kitchen for food support. Where can I find access to food when my food emergency bag runs out? 

The IVC Kitchen will provide an emergency food bag to assist with food needs. IVC hosts the Community Food Distribution from the Imperial Valley Food bank once a month every third Wednesday of every month. If you are unable to access emergency food, please contact John Moreno from the Student Equity & Achievement Program at 760.355.6259 john.moreno@imperial.edu 

 

I'm a homeless student, where can I go for housing support services? 

Please contact Student Equity & Achievement at 760.355.5727  ivchousing@imperial.edu who can assist in connecting you to community resources and services via phone and email.
