A facilitator/personal assistant is NOT provided by DSP&S. A facilitator/ personal assistant is provided by agencies with which the student is enrolled.
If the facilitator / personal assistant will be attending your in-person classes, the facilitator/ personal assistant will need to complete the following process:
Two things are required to be cleared as a facilitator at IVC 1) background clearance 2) medical screening (free of charge to you). Make sure to bring a form of identification to the appointment with the HR Generalist.
The background clearance (via fingerprints) is done on campus in the HR office and the appointment lasts approximately 20 minutes.
To conduct the Tuberculosis (TB) screening the contracted clinic is located off–site and paperwork will be given to you on the date of appointment with the HR Generalist. If you have been screened for TB in the last 2 years, you may bring that paperwork for verification in lieu of going to the clinic.
Upon approval the Facilitator/Personal Assistant will have to carry their badge or agency shirt and identify to faculty or staff as needed. Also, they will be provided with a Letter to Professors which would briefly describe their role and must be presented to the faculty.
For facilitator/ personal assistant to be approved as soon as possible they will have to complete the form and meet with HR Generalist on the first week of the month- second week the latest.
Faculty/ Staff: The faculty and/ or staff may ask for the Facilitator/ Personal Assistant to identify themselves. If further assistance is needed, you may reach out to DSPS at 760-355-6434.
