All current IVC students, employees, and residents of the Imperial Valley College district may borrow materials from the IVC Library. Use your IVC I.D. card to borrow materials from the library.
IVC I.D. cards are free to students. They are available through Student Affairs.
Non-student community members may purchase an IVC ID Card for $5.00.
The IVC I.D. card must be presented every time library materials are checked out. If the IVC I.D. Card is not available, the material may be placed on hold for up to one week.
Books may be borrowed for 4 weeks and renewed for another 4 weeks if there are no requests for the book.
DVDs may be borrowed for one week and renewed for another week if there are no requests.
Items on course reserve may be used in the library only for up to two hours at a time.
The library does not charge fines for the late return of materials.
Borrowers will be charged for the replacement cost of materials not returned four weeks after their due date. A refund be given if you return the material within six months of payment of the replacement cost.
Any money owed from lost items could prevent you from registering for classes or receiving transcripts until the obligation is cleared with the Library.
You may place a hold on an item that is checked out. When the item is returned to the library, you will be notified and given one week to borrow the item.
Library materials may be returned inside the library at the Circulation Desk or at one of the three book returns that are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are located at the:
Front entrance of campus near the walkway to the Administration Building
Outside the entrance to the Library
