Canvas is the course management system used by Imperial Valley College. Canvas is available for each course offered at Imperial Valley College; every student and faculty member has a Canvas account. Faculty are encouraged to incorporate this technology within their courses (whether online, hybrid or traditional face-to-face). Canvas provides faculty with many features and tools to enhance student learning and success, including, but not limited to, posting of syllabi, resources, and grades; establishing discussion boards, journals, and assignments; and communicating with students through email and announcements.
Faculty and students can access their Canvas course sites by clicking on Canvas under the "Faculty & Staff" tab or the "For Students" tab on the IVC website, or by going to imperial.instructure.com.
Course rosters are automatically unloaded into the Canvas course sites. Faculty teaching multiple sections of the same course can merge the sections into a single master course.
