
Romualdo Medina’s educational governance service began with eight years on the Calipatria
Unified School District Board before joining the Imperial Community College District
Board on December 13, 1995. His 30-year IVC tenure reflects institutional stability
and strategic growth, culminating in the college receiving the 2023 Aspen Prize.
An IVC alumnus, former construction business owner, and municipal administrator with
over 25 years of experience, Trustee Medina applies expertise in intergovernmental
relations, strategic planning, and fiscal oversight to guide the college’s physical
transformation while prioritizing student equity and success. His academic credentials
include an AA from IVC, a BA from San Diego State University, and an MPA from National
University.
Romualdo "Rom" Medina was elected to the Imperial Community College District Board
of Trustees for Area 6. He took office on December 13, 1995. His background is as
