Imperial Valley College students now have access to brand-new, affordable housing located on the SDSU Imperial Valley campus in Calexico, just a short 5-minute walk from two Calexico-to-IVC Express bus stops. Developed in partnership with SDSU Imperial Valley and The Scion Group, this new student housing community named the Calexico Commons, offers a convenient, connected, and supportive living environment for IVC and SDSU students alike.
Living at the Calexico Commons means joining a vibrant student community where friendships, collaboration, and growth can thrive, all while staying focused on your academic goals and enjoying easy access to campus and transit. Your 11.5-month housing license covers this entire period. All rates are listed per resident and include a fully furnished apartment and utilities.

Designed for shared student living, each apartment includes four (4) bedrooms and two (2) bathrooms. Bedrooms are available for double-occupancy (two residents per bedroom). Depending on bedroom occupancy, each apartment accommodates up to eight (8) residents.
Within each bedroom, every resident has their own bed and mattress, desk, chair and wardrobe. The apartment also includes a shared kitchenette with a sink, microwave, refrigerator, freezer and a four-burner cooktop, along with a dining area furnished with a table and chairs. Each unit is equipped with air conditioning.

For Imperial Valley College students, it creates a supportive environment that helps you stay focused and succeed academically and personally. Located on the SDSU Imperial Valley campus, this housing allows IVC students to commute easily via nearby transit while living alongside SDSU students in a shared academic community.

Please note: Single-occupancy room types will have only one resident assigned to the bedroom. However, the bedroom will remain furnished as a double-occupancy bedroom, including two beds, desks and wardrobes. No furniture will be removed.
Beyond your apartment, Imperial Valley College students will have access to a shared outdoor courtyard, on-site laundry facilities, and controlled access with perimeter fencing designed to support your safety and comfort. The housing community, shared with SDSU Imperial Valley students, is supported by 24/7 patrol services, with officers regularly monitoring the campus and surrounding areas and available to respond to concerns at any time.
For added peace of mind, the Calexico Police Department is located just 0.2 miles from campus. A live-in community manager is also on site to provide support, answer questions, and help create a welcoming, student-centered environment where you can feel at home.
